If the injection molding machine is suspended, it is necessary to spray the excess glue several times or let the plastic pass through the injection molding machine to clean the remaining plastic of the shooting cylinder or barrel. In the case of plastic fading, the number of blasting will increase. For minor repairs; the heater of the shooting tank must be calibrated to a minimum value, for example 150 ° C, to minimize the possibility of thermal decomposition.

Before injection of heat-stable plastics (such as PS or PE), if you have previously stopped for one night, you only need to close the slide plate at the bottom of the hopper and the shooting tank heater (heater that only opens the nozzle) to blast the shooting cylinder. clean. After the nozzle is completely cleaned, the barrel is cooled as high as possible. After the injection molding machine is cooled, all equipment is closed. The injection molding machine is fully prepared for reheating.

If the temperature of the shooting cylinder or barrel is high, it is only necessary to slightly modify the above steps to prevent the resin from being thermally decomposed. For example, a closed shot cylinder heater (a heater that only opens the nozzle), or the barrel is cooled as much as possible, and the remaining resin is continuously sprayed. Close the slide at the bottom of the hopper and try to spray the oblique rubber in the barrel. If no plastic is sprayed out, the equipment can be closed for future use.

If the plastic is decomposed or burned in the injection molding machine, it will eventually change color, making the finished product a waste. In this case, the injection molding machine must be completely closed and cleaned. The precaution is to spray a heat-sensitive resin with a plastic that is more thermally stable so that it can withstand subsequent reheating.

Some plastics (such as POM, PVC) are easily decomposed. If the machine stops suddenly during the injection process, the heater of the nozzle should be turned on before the injection molding is continued. Only when the plastic has a nozzle melted, the injection cylinder heater can be activated. The temperature of the shooting cylinder or barrel should be adjusted to approximately 140 °C. Then raise the temperature to the processing temperature and spray the remaining plastic as soon as possible. The sprayed plastic must be placed in cold water. If you want to change other plastics, it is best to use the natural or non-fireproof grade of PS or PE as the spray cleaner; if the residual material is not completely sprayed, mix the POM with PVC or mix it.

Before shutting down or switching to another plastic, you must check that the steps taken are correct. The material supplier has printed a booklet containing sufficient information and should read carefully before handling to understand the “standard shutdown procedure” required for each plastic. The booklet should be placed next to the injection molding machine for easy access by the operator.
